Random stuff

I had one day this week (Tuesday), that was just crazy. For starters:

I went to Mickey D’s for a coffee at the drive-thru after dropping my 4 year-old to school. Now maybe you had to be there but I found this exchange kinda funny. After I paid for the coffee and before she gave me the change, the cashier asks me, “would you like to give some of your money for the poor kids?” Now, they’ve never asked me this (as they have that clear money box outside the window for donations) and they usually will SAY what the charity is. I am assuming she was nervous and didn’t want to mess up the pronounciation of the charity ( I assume Ronal.d McDon.ald House) but the way she said it…the poor kids made me almost laugh out loud. Anyway…

OK, then I take my baby to the doctor. I sit next to this lady with a baby as well. After a while she asks me how old he is. I tell her he will be 5 months on Saturday and that he was born June 11th. She says her son was born June 10th. A young couple sitting across from us laughs and says their daughter was born June 9th. That’s just weird, but not all! The lady then asks me what my baby is doing there. This isn’t the regular pediatrician but Children’s Hospital. I am so taken aback that I don’t tell her to mind her business but actually tell this lady the problem!!! Nothing major at all. Anyway, she then asks the young couple why they are there! They are like in their early 20s and although their discomfort with the question is obvious, they tell her that one of the baby’s kidneys are larger than the other! OK, who the hell asks such personal questions at a doctor’s office??? And more importantly, why was I stuck on stupid and answered this fool??????

I am selling my car in order to help me further extend my maternity leave (as I should’ve been back in July when my maternity leave funds ran out:) We have a minivan I used my car for work. This summer everyone and their mother was borrowing my car since I wasn’t working. So anyway, I put it on Crai.g’s list and have been getting good responses. My sister called and asked me if she could use my car until I sold it??? OK…I had to point out the various problems with this scenario. I already listed the miles in my ad, what if you wreck it?, and finally, what if someone wants to stop by and actually see the car????? Do people not think? Is your license off suspension anyway?????

We don’t take pics like that being muslim but here’s a freebee that I discovered was taken by my sis in-law. He’s getting big huh?

  2. Oh Safa,

This baby is so astonishingly beautiful! His skin tone and those eyes are so incredibly gorgeous he should be the prototype of what a baby should look like. Stop posting pics because I am on my way to 42 in less than 4 months, and if I see another one, I just might make Stephen (the PO) become a Daddy all over again….and with grown and almost grown children (his: 26, 24, 21, 18, & 16 — and mine: 17 in less than a week), he is not feeling that at all!

Re: the nut in the doctor’s office, there is no substitute for a good upbringing….giving her mother the benefit of the doubt, let me submit for consideration, that this woman was taught to behave better as a child, but has simply chosen not to use what she was taught :)

Glad to know you are well ;)

  6. He’s absolutely beautiful!!

I think that you’re right about the car!! If you’ve already listed the car and the condition/miles, then it might be a good idea to keep it that way til sold. Unless, of course, she wants to buy it.

Sometimes I’m stuck at how bold people are with their questions. Nosey!!
