Commuting funnies and whys

This morning as I was driving in to work, I saw the coolest and funniest thing. I pulled at the red light in DC and noticed the car to my left blasting some salsa/meringue music. The driver was an older spanish man and he was jammin’. Guys, I kid you not-during the chorus part of the song, my man pulled a couple of caraches from the passenger seat and began shaking them to the beat. I was thrown! We rode side by side for 5 or so blocks and everytime there was slow down, he would start shaking those instruments again. People who were crossing the street were smiling and nodding. I used to have these instruments as a kid. I am not even sure of the correct name but they have wooden handles and are round at the top and sound like rice inside or something. Just interesting.

What I saw the other day wasn’t funny…I just wondered why. As I am driving home from work at around 5:30, I look over at a guy driving in the northbound lane. He has his foot hanging out the window. Now I am aware that on weekends, road trips, etc passengers will usually hang a leg out the window. However, an afternoon commute??? Is it really that relaxing driving with one foot and the other cramped and contorted to get it to fit out the driver’s side window??? Why?

OK…for real…why are grown azz people still eating boogers in their car? Why? Usually middle-aged white business men…I’m just saying what I’ve observed.

This is funny. While at red lights, you can feel the person in the parallel car looking at you but when you turn around they act like they weren’t. Funnier is when you are trying to get over and the person acts like they were born without peripheral vision or neck muscles. If you don’t want to let me in that’s fine but I know you know I’m staring at you….and they have the nerve to not even blink! UUUGHHH

There are many more but I’m sleepy. Even though the date says 6/12, it’s really 9:57 on Monday.

  3. I can sympathize with the “jammin’ man”. There have been many a day that I’ve held entire concerts while driving.

  4. Ok. I’m guilty of getting my jam on in my car. I’m also guilty of booger digging, but I ALWAYS make sure I have a tissue or something to dispose of it–eating boogers?! Guys can be so gross sometimes.
