“Secur”ity?…Really?
Let me preface this by saying that I do believe certain important jobs are grossly underpaid. However, a person should still approach their job with a level of professionalism and dignity no matter what the salary. I can’t stand when people hate their job and let it reflect all over their entire body.
The security guards in my office building leave a lot to be desired. Here are some observations I have made that make me wonder how they will fare in an emergency situation:
1. Female guards with fake nails so long they can’t possibly safely grip a weapon.
2. Female guards sitting at the desk reading the latest Zane novel or Black Confessions magazine while eating a Kri.spy Crem.e donut.
3. Male and female guards so obese they sweat while sitting.
4. Guards sighing and sucking their teeth when they have to get up and open a door or something.
5. Guards gossiping with office employees at the desk while visitors wait to be signed in.
6. Guards sleeping at the desk…go to the breakroom or something.
7. Guards cussing and complaining about their employers to anyone who’ll listen.
8. Uniforms so tight you can’t run after anyone without busting a seam.
9. Guards who will let anyone in without checking ID/signing based on the attractiveness of the visitor.
10. Visibly pregnant guards…unsafe much?

How about security guards being jealous that you work UPSTAIRS! LOL
